N64 Help

Hey, I have been working on a N64portable and well, the n64 I got isn't really working.
I had a bit of trouble getting it to work before.
Anyways, The problem is that when ever I turn it on, It won't read the cartridge.(I can tell it is on because my tv screen will flicker once to say it is on.)
All I have done to the n64 is opened it and wired up a battery(7.4vlt).
Well, the battery isn't really wired up anymore.I had removed it just to make sure that it wasn't the battery causing the trouble.
And well, it wasn't.
The games work on my friend's n64 but not mine.
So I need your help.

does your cartridge slot have any damage or anything to it . u should post pics

Yeah, pics would help. Check for shorts or loose connections on both your connector and the board. I had the same problem, found a loose connection, and fixed it.

Clean everything like crazy and check for loose connections on the cart slot and AV out port. If cleaning doesn't work, I'd suggest reflowing.

I had a similar problem and cleaning the cartslot and cart and reflowing the AV out port fixed it.

Well,It doesn't matter
I think I fried it the led doesn't turn on and it doesn't show the quick flash on the tv

It's in sleep mode. Leave it alone for a few days.

It`s not fried it turn on and i tried cleaning it didn't work

It still isn't working, I reflowed it and cleaned it about 1000times with rubbing achoal
