Making a DS lite work without upper screen

greetings.

guys, i was watching one of Shockslayer`s videos and i saw this mod where he turned a NDS phat into a GBA.

i was wondering if this is possible in a ds lite (which im pretty sure it is), and how to make the ds turn on without the upper screen.

please, respond me soon i need this proyect done for my little cousin before sunday cause it`s his b-day and i promised him that i`ll do it

actually, im using a DSlite, and that method only works for a DS phat as far as i understand, so meh :/

Considering that in his source link, The pinout is labeled as being for a lite, I have a feeling it'll work just fine.
It's way to expensive to change the pinout for screens like that. These aren't traditional computers, if you change the hardware in any drastic way, stuff breaks. I mean, heck, The GBA can use the SP's screen if you just add one wire.
