L R and Z

... If you have a desoldering iron, you can desolder them, relocate with wire (other modretro users and I prefer IDE cable) and glue them in play if you need to. Or not. It all depends on what u want your case to look like. Do u want full analog, dual tact, or just digital? It all depends...

Using a single tact switch will be the easiest, but you don't get full compatibility. Games like Super Mario Sunshine will not work correctly

Dual tact will be a bit harder, but you will get basically full compatibility (Only issue is you don't have the full range of movement of a real R/L button). Games like Super Mario Sunshine will work just fine.

Full analog R/L will be much harder, but you get full compatibility. You'll have issues making them fit inside of the case and mounting them, they also will add thickness in general.

There isn't really a tutorial for it. For maintaining the original R/L buttons, you're going to need to figure out a way to mount them to your case and make sure they're lined up correctly and shiz. I would honestly suggest doing method number 2, it's a lot easier and you'll still be able to play all the games you're going to want to.
