It just is an electrical problem theres your help specific like you.

Have you opened it before? Dropped it? This is caused by the touch panel (or backlight. Not sure, its been years) cable not making contact if I recall... I remedied this in my old ds by folding a tiny piece of paper up and wedging it under the cable near the connector. My locking bit on the connector was missing, though. Not sure if you have the same issue.
