Heat jointing plexiglass

I may use plexiglass for my n64 portable case. I was wondering if you could possibly use a sot soldering iron to melt the joints together.

You could, I suppose, but they would be ugly, and not particularly strong, and you would ruin the tip too.

Thats what i thought about is the tip running, what would be the best way to joint plexiglass, (hot glue? idk) I also need to no the answer to this question because i am building a mousebot for the National Robotics Challenge and all i have for a case is 1/4 inch plexiglass

Get some of this. Or another like-solvent. Inject into corners, it "melts" it together basically. Do it in an open space because that stuff gives off a strong odor.

Edit: You can also glue them together basically with the right adhesive. Here is a guide I found. And this stuff, as you can see, is cheaper than the solvent.
