Drawing a load from smart chargers?

I'm attempting a play system so that the portable will run off a smart charger, it won't charge at the same time but you can use the system without consuming battery?


My question is can you draw a current from a smart charger, or do they only charge batteries?



I think I'm over thinking it, it outputs 8.4v and enough amps to power something, if it's not trying to charge a battery at the same time it works fine as a static power supply.

Yeah, you can either play, or charge, unless the charger outputs enough amps. In fact, Toast and I were talking on the chatroom, and Toast said that his/her n64 and screen was hooked up to a smart charger.
