Differences between a noac poartable, or an authentic NES?

I'm making a portable nes, and I was wondering which has better/more perks.

In short:

Noac: Better battery life, some have pretty good compatibility while others are terrible. They have much smaller motherboards, many are able to fit in a GBC without trimming. That may not matter much though, considering the size of an NES cart.

NES: Perfect compatibility (minus light gun games in a portable), still pretty good battery life. Huge motherboard, but there have been attempts to reduce it's size. The size of the original cartridges sort of compliments the size of the NES motherboard, though. Perfect for a ZN-40 portable.

If you are looking for a tiny, low powered powered then use a Noac. If you want perfect compatibility and don't mind the extra heft, use an NES.

Or alternatively, find a top loader NES and trim the board in that. Not very practical in terms of cost though.

Even if you can find a good deal on a top-loading NES, I'd advise against it, solely because of how few of them there are left. A good condition NES2 could go for a Heck of a lot more than a NESp in due time. Plus it's cool and rare.

Use a Famicom, then. They are rare on this side of the Pacific, but over in Japan a dime a dozen. The board inside is small IIRC, however wiring up a NES cartridge slot would be kind of a pain.

No, the converters were so that you could play nes games on a famicom.

The converter inside a NES game goes the wrong way IIRC, but there are ones that go the other way.
