CRT V.S. LCD/OLED/Newer stuff

What has a POSSIBLE higher DPI, CRT's, or LCD onwards/today's TV's?

CRT's should possibly be able to deflect the electrons relatively precisely, and I assume it would be possible to aim them at an area much smaller than the possible pixel sizes for other types of screens.

So really, other than size and weight, how are CRT's compared to newer tech in relation to resolution and DPI?

CRTs are analogue, and can be used as a vector screen. With enough development, the limiting factor should be the size of the individual phosphors, allowing the dpi to be 1/3 of the amount of phosphors you could fit in an inch. This is probably a larger number than LCD and LED technologies can theoretically produce, but after a certain point it no longer makes a perceivable difference.

That said, I don't think anyone is actively developing CRT technologies anymore, so I doubt you would find anything worthwhile anymore.

What are you planning to actually do?

Because I think that modern tech probably has a pretty good option for you...
