Best way to relocate parts of a controller?

Hey guys, I'm modding a 3rd party nes controller, and long story short, I need to relocate some of the controller contacts, how should I go about doing this?

You can cut off the sections and rewire the traces.

Okay, I have tried this (figuring that it would be the easiest way,) and the solder won't stick to the board...

First things first. Your scraping off the green right and exposing copper right?
I hope you are lol.

If the solder wont stick to the copper, you need to apply a little flux.

I typically use flux core solder and it sticks to the copper just fine. But if yours isnt sticking its time to get some flux.
