Am I doing something wrong? Handheld ps2 hangs

when my 500 gig usb hard disk is plugged in the system hangs at boot, and if i plug it in after booting it hangs when i launch open loader if i use hdloader it says no drive detected??

I used WinHiip for windows to configure the drive for hdloader installed 90 ps2 games and a few ps one tittles like civ II

but no luck... and the usb port is supplying enough power the drive is using it's correct cable and well.. I just do not know what to do

You should use a phat ps2 they work better than the slim there is a sata hdd adaptor if that's what your hdd is when using a USB hdd it doesn't load as fast as the ps2 internal hdd hope this helps

Ps2 USB PORT'S are 1.1 (slow by default) and a it will take alot of time to be check the hdd ( freemcboot. Check that before being used so it can run a bit faster, so just que a 64gb pen drive to do the work
