3d printed portable case

Hey all,

I've got access to a 3d printer through my university.

Im wondering if I should make a portable N64 case with ABS or PLA?

Or should I just go with styrene vacuum formed case?

What is the consensus on this for a portable?

Thanks

I have only ever used ABS and it is very sturdy with 2.5 mm thick walls. I have heard that PLA works well too, but you might need to make thicker walls because PLA is more brittle.

Regardless, I recommend 3D printing over vacuum forming. Vacuum forming requires that you cut out all the holes by hand, which is extremely time-consuming. You can make a 3D print look just as good as a vacuum-form if you do enough sanding and painting, and maybe use some filler like Bondo.
