Nah I never finished. Not because it is impossible, I just completely lost interest. If you're familiar with the 555 timer, it doesn't take too much effort to get it to work. BTW Don't use my schematic for your project; it is flawed.

Impressive, SS. Only thing that bothers me is the choice of hinge. This lappy would look great with some friction hinges from McMaster.

@Sam From the site: "80% of initial capacity at 1000 cycles" Most of the other batteries have a cycle life of >500 times. I don't know about the 4700 or 5000mAh ones though.

Get the LiMnNi cells. They're like 4Ah and are inexpensive (~$10 I think).

Well, I found a pinout of the chip (JRC NJM2284) that capacitor is connected to. It's used to switch video signals. In the datasheet, the test circuit shows a 10uf cap connected to pin 8, which is what I need. So I guess I solved my own problem. :dahroll:

I removed it temporarily, but part of the cap was still on the board. I could have been more careful.

I broke a lead off of one of the caps. What should I replace it with? Image belongs to Zenloc.

Scale models. If you don't have space, I'd recommend 1/48 and 1/72 scale airplanes. Tanks are also fun and small.
