Sam's PCp

You should do it! I'd love to see that original design finished. It would also give me the kick in the pants I need to finish mine.

Hmm you guys are probably right. Someone want to help me fake a investigative report thats due tomorrow so I can utilise my time today working on MKI.

Good news and Bad news:

Good: theres an SSD on my desk. Its very tiny. I am in love.

Bad: Bank transfer failed. Not the end of the world, but it means I will have to wait longer for my motherboard.

Triple post. Awesome.

Board payed for. shipping tomorrow, Red label international. At the latest, I ought to have it monday. Which means I need an OS. Im gonna run win 7 64 bit, home premium or higher (4gb ram support), but I dont like any of the versions out on the net. So anyone got a code theyd sell? Id prefer home premium over higher versions, actually, as all the functionality pro etc add is useless crap like bitlocker that takes up more hard drive space.

Definitely using 64 bit. speed increase > compatability. Anyway, I have it on my desktop, and all my games run, so Im not worried about compatibility.

As for tiny7, its 32 bit only. Have a disc on my desk.

Why not just crack the full version instead of buying a key?

Did you ask your supplier about the possibility of getting more boards (especially 10+)?

As far as cracks, from what Ive seen, most are Keygens, and not well documented. I dont like keygens. But if youve got a recommendation, my ears are open.

As for more, I havent asked yet. Was caught up in failed bank transfers Etc. Will ask though. ;)

Ah, I wasn't aware there was only a 32-bit version. As for a cracked version not involving a keygen, there are various pre-activated ISOs floating around. You just burn them and it'll install already activated without ever asking for a cd-key. Works with Windows Update as well (just don't install the optional WAT update from MS).

Otherwise, I might have a CD-Key I could sell, but I think it might be Windows 7 Professional, considering it's given to me from my university.

My roommate found one that he used on one of my laptops, I'll find out what it was. I believe it worked by tricking it into thinking it was an OEM install, if that is any help.

So Ive officially proven that my new motherboard will be faster than crap. I realized my desktops motherboard has the old HD 4200 (dx 10.1) as its onboard graphics. So I put my old athlon 64 x2 2.1ghz in it, hooked up the new SSD, and installed tiny7.

It has a more powerful CPU than the e-350, but the graphics should be almost identical, and the RAM and SATA controller are both much slower (ddr2 667 and sata 2, respectively, vs ddr3 1333 and sata 3). Therefore I am pretty confident that it should be pretty comparable to my performance on the new mobo (which should be showing up this week). Runs everything Ive thrown at it way better than the atom+ion.

L4d runs great at medium/high settings. no wait on boot up. I just launch the game and the valve logo run starts playing. crazy fast.

Audiosurf loads crazy fast, plays on high just fine. Blows the rig I built over christmas out of the water in the speed department.

Copying Mass Effect 2 over as I type this, so I should know that in a second, but I suspect it will run great.

Minecraft runs awesome as well. Very fast. I am pleased, but I want my new mobo already so i can stop doing workaround testing.

I knew you would give in sooner or later.
Psh. I been playing minecraft since like christmas, at least. And you had nothing to do with it. Being bored in my comp sci class did. (html is boring and easy. I had my project done in 2 class periods.)

I underclocked my athlon down to 1.4ghz on each core, in the hopes of gaining a more accurate analouge. Then I ran Oblivion and Mass Effect 2. Oblivion ran great, I was pulling ~30 fps with moderately low setting at 640x480 (which is native for my screen, so its pointless to run higher). Mass Effect 2 ran pretty well too, and considering it has awful issues with copying the install from one computer to another (or in this case one setup on the rig to a totally different one) I think I can say with certainty that it will run quite well. This pleases me to no end.
