PS3 Power supply

Hi,

I own an American PS3 but I currently live in Europe. I own a transformer from 220-125 V that i've always used, but it's kinda bulky and i don't know if it's actually necessary. MY PS3 just says 125V, so I'm afraid of plugin it directly to the grid.

My idea was opening the PS3 as it is 5 years old and the lens is broken and changing the rectifier and pieces of hardware that would transform the 220 V to the 12 V that the board uses or whatever voltage it is, instead of using the external transformer.

Is it possible??

The ps3 psu is removable iirc so you could get a european one and swap it out. Maybe?

Actually I just disassembled it and the psu itself reads like this

That's not what the box and the user manual said. So now i know i've been a dumbass using the external transformer.
