PS2 motherboard Question

In regards to making a Playstation 2 Portable. Do I have to use a PS2 slim SCPH-79XXX motherboard? Because I was wondering if I can use a PS2 slim scph-70012 to make the PS2 slim portable if its possible instead of a ps2 scph-79001 and load Swap magic to install Free Mcboot on my PS2 memory card. Can I follow the same guide to make a PS2 portable using scph-70012 instead of using a PS2 Scph-7900x board? Thanks

It really doesn't matter what board you use, as long as it fits in the case your using. That being said, you really want to use the smallest you can get.
