So, I have started a new portable. I'm calling it the Colossal64, because it's huge.

I've got the cart slot relocated, I'll upload some pics soon.

Re: Colossal64 Worklog

When the headphones are in, then the headphones get the audio from the game. When they aren't in, then the audio instead goes to those pins and you bridge them to mix the left and right audio because you only have mono with the PSone screen speakers. Then you connect it to the screen. If you don't wire that up, then only headphones will work and even with them out, the speakers will not.

Re: Colossal64 Worklog

Okay thanks, but what does "headphone switch" mean? like what particular part is it referring to?

Re: Colossal64 Worklog

Headphone switch are those 2 pins. If you look closely into the jack, there is a "bar" that will switch the signal from speakers to the headphones when you insert the jack.

All it means is that they are audio out for the speakers. (so wire it up to the PSOne screen board, as showed in that picture)

Re: Colossal64 Worklog

You can buy certain headphone jacks that act like a switch. When you don't have headphones in, the switch turns your speakers on, when you have headphones in, the switch turns your speakers off.

Mine is here: (in the bottom right)

Re: Colossal64 Worklog

Thanks, is there a specific type of headphone jack I should use, or what?

Added button holes:

Still needs a bit of sanding, but what ever.
