Xbox Charge and Play

Hi i just want to ask a quick question

If i mess around with the cables of my charge and play , tie them together and such would it mess up my usb port on my console or even worst my console.

also if anyone has a chart to this it would be really awesome

This is old. Anyways what do u mean by tie together? Like trim and expose wire and wrap. Then yes that would short out. But just removing the insulation and not exposing wire and tying that together then nothing should happen.
