WTB: Laptop

Not looking for a powerhouse. If it runs MineCraft smoothly, it's more than okay.

I'm currently looking at a laptop (D.J), but I'm interested in seeing what everyone has to offer. Specifically, I'd like to get specs again (although I'm pretty sure I've seen specs from most of you).

My M500 is still up for grabs. I'll include disks for Windows XP Professional SP3, Linux Mint, Xubuntu, and driver software. It currently has 512MB of RAM on it, and if you upgrade to 1GB it should run Minecraft just fine. (iirc Minecraft can only recognize 1GB of RAM anyway.)

I'm not looking to buy more RAM if I don't need to. Is that all the RAM you have for it then, I suppose?

J.D, how new is the processor? I have a Dimension 2400 desktop with a 2.6Ghz processor and 256MB of RAM that runs Minecraft at 20-30fps with occasional hangups... So I feel like that laptop should at least do better than my desktop.

Amper, it's your RAM. You can run Minecraft just fine on a 1.8GHZ processor.

The processor is a 2.2ghz Pentium 4 iirc

I figured as much. I'm surprised anything runs on this dinosaur.

Specs? How much are you looking for for it?

Is this the M500 you have?

No. I have a Gateway M500B1.

Does it run MC as is? Because my desktop dinosaur runs MC Alpha at 30fps with only 256MB of RAM.

It should. I'll test XP on it on Sunday and let you know what I find out.
