Will these batteries work to power a Wii?

In short, no. Firstly, those ain't nearly as capacious as they say, you can be assured of that. Secondly, there's something where the wii needs 12v to turn on, so you'd really want 4 cells wired for 14.8v and regulate it to a stable 12. An 11.1v pack would maybe work if fully charged, but for most of the charge cycle, you wouldn't be able to turn on the console without some sort of up voltage regulator, and those are no fun.

I thought Sam just said that the wii needs 12v to boot.
Hence the custom regulator bit. Though keep in mind I am not certain on that 12v thing, though it does stick in my head.

i keep bouncing back and forth on the idea of a gamecube or a wii portable.
Controls for a Wiip would be pretty tricky.
Either way, I recommend doing a lot more reading and a lot less posting for now. A couple hours of reading could have answered almost all the questions you've asked. The sticky and Ashen's worklogs would be good places to start.

well i would still use a GC controller for the wii. The point of this is to make a portable that requires less work like rewiring a WKF.
