I'm building a GCp and the onlyy thing that isnt working is the WiiKEY..i followed this picture to solder everything on the B-Side: http://www.fotos-hochladen.net/view/sch ... qceo5k.jpg heres a video that shows everything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wm8zj4VB_d0 . on the sdhc card is the 1.5 firmware and paper mario 2 with wbfs manager. any tips what i can do? it's a pal board so it should work. i soldered it 3 times now and it might be all good. Any tips what i can do here? Why i get the error?

Do you have a switch on pin 29? I can’t and don’t see you pressing it in the video.

Yes i have one and yes i didn't pressed it cos i don't know when to press it.. It is also connected to 1.9v. the wiikey LED is flashing red

Your wiring is really messy. The insulation of the wires should stop at the solder joint and not 5mm before it. If you redo the wiring carefully, you may find that the GameCube still works. Do it step by step and test it after each step.

Which wiring? from the wiikey? i desoldered it, still dont work. before everything worked so i dont think that is the problem :( i live in germany but hey. i can understand english, so im buying a ntsc board from badassconsoles i think. just 6 dolars is less then 25 euro for a new gc. do you know which version i need to run wiikey fusion? and which IPL version? this time i wont wire the wiikey by myself cos i will mess it up again. I will buy an MEGADrive V5 when it is in stock again. just quicksolder everything and you can plug it in. the only problem is the ntsc board. do you know someone who can sell me a pal board? otherwise i will buy the ntsc(which isnt that cool for me) if you dont know someone tell me pls the info i asked above for the ntsc one if you can. thx! :)

I suppose the other stuff isn't much better than the wiikey wiring. It's just that if you have that much of the wires exposed, two adjacent wires can easily cause unwanted shorts that might kill your GameCube. If you redo the wiring with a new board, remove as little insulation from the wires as possible, such that two adjacent wires can't cause shorts even when you move them around.

I don't know any place that sells cheap PAL GameCubes. Badassconsoles is certainly a good place to get NTSC boards but I don't know which versions work with a wiikey.

All motherboard versions work with the Wiikey if you have Swiss flashed to the Wiikey, but if you don't, you would have to flash Swiss on a certain motherboard version (or a Wii).

The motherboard versions that work with the Wiikey by default are boards with IPL v1.1, which will have a purple start menu when starting a game in the BIOS menu.
Boards that are identified with a number above CPU-11 are IPL v1.1. If the board is CPU-11, it could be IPL v1.1 or 1.0. If it's below CPU-11, it is IPL v1.0.
And if the motherboard has built in regulators, it is garunteed to have IPL v1.1.

great thanks to you. i will buy an ntsc board soon! :) and ty for the tip with the wiring i will look for it next time!

You don't need a new modchip unless the modchip actually broke when that cable melted. The modchip most likely would not break from that. So yes, just a new ribbon cable.

This video shows basically how to flash Swiss to a Wiikey. Like I said, you'll need an IPL v1.1 motherboard or a Wii to flash Swiss.
