What to make out of a GBASP and normal GBA?

I have three GBASPs lying around as well as two old GBAs. Out of curiosity, I was wondering what can be done in the case of modding one of these suckers. I'll be getting my paws on an old Gamecube from a friend of mine, and was thinking that a GBASP screen may work (size-wise).

So, any input on this, guys? I'm pretty new to modding stuff, but not working with motherboards and all that jazz (I mess with computers as a hobby), but I understand the main idea of working with wires, taking things apart, and the fun that can be had from it.

GBASP screens can only be used for other input if you buy an adapter that runs $50 and up, and use the entire Dang thing. You'd be much better off taking that $50 and buying one of the hundreds of screens that are already setup for other inputs. Do some reading in the screen section to get a list of workable brands and models.

You could always see if any of those gbasps have a frontlight, so you can frontlight your gameboy colour!

Thanks for putting that short and simple. Though, is there anything good that the GBA/SP can be used for modding with since the screen is a bust?

Also, thanks for the idea, but I sadly don't have a Gameboy color anymore. xD I believe it got lost into the plethera that is my graveyard of computer parts.

Battery and charging circuit, but there isn't much it's strong enough for. If you have an inverter, it is possible to power an Atari-on-a-chip (AOAC) with it. The speaker and buttons are usable, too. Maybe the power switches. There isn't much there, but there is some.

Alright, thanks. As well, I'll head over to the screens section to take a look. Thanks for your help.

You can take the frontlight from the GBASP(s) and put one on the original GBA so you can have a frontlit LCD just like the GBASP has but in the form factor of the first GBA.
