True analog feel, joystick to D-pad mod

First grab any analog joystick (PS2, xbox 360, GC, etc) and pry the pots on the side off so that it looks like this.

Then take the pots and flip them over so you can see the plastic tabs. Like so

Then push down on the tabs to pop the center out of the other side.

Now all you have to do is remove the resistive coating at 12 o'clock

It should look something like this in the end

Then just reassemble it and use the following pinout

Wait, does this give the same as the "c stick mod" used on n64 controllers? This seems to be a much smarter and sertainly simpler way than adding and tweaking with resistors XD

Yup, This can be used on any kind of button. You will still get maybe 2k omhs on each line, but other then that I have had no problems at all.
