The Official Ghost/Reaper of ModRetro
Yeah, so it's my first N64p and here's what I have so far.

1 N64 Mobo with no wiring done
1 controller wired but not tested
1 screen opened and traced
1 case
1 batteries

So yeah, check back later for pics and developments. What TI regs do I need again?

I need a wiring diagram for a 4 pin composite video connector. Please help.

Basically it's like a headphone jack, but with 4 pins instead of 3. I know there's a pinout for the male floating around, but DJ needs a pinout of the female stock port so he can know where to solder to.

Left audio on the tip, right audio just below that, then composite video, then ground. So on female, L audio is going to be the innermost pin, R audio the next one over, etc.

A picture of the bottom of the jack on the board would be nice.

What you need is to find a 4 pin headphone male plug, so you can put that in and use your multimeter to check which pin is which.

No. Like regular headphone jacks, there is an official pinout. If you have ones that are different, one of them is flax.

Yeah, So I decided to use a normal screen. So if anyone's got a psone screen/zenith screen shoot me a pm. Also I'll get some pics of everything later.

He's saying there's a standard for 4 pin 3.5mm jacks. But they normally come with custom cords since they are used for different things (Apple uses them for audio and mics, his dvd player uses it for A/V) they vary as to what pins use what. So the best way to go would be to just check it with your handy multimeter.

No, the pinout for the A/V usage of this jack is always the same. It is the same for ipod video output as it is for this.

There's no easy way to figure out what pin goes to where without a 4 pin 3.5mm male jack to put in there to use a multimeter on. He can't tell what pin soldered to the board connects to what point on the male without actually having a male, nor can he tell what pin on the board is for video, which is for audio without having the jack, which we DO have a pinout for, connected.

That's what I was suggesting he did with the multimeter. But it does vary and there is no absolute standard. The audio pins are always the same as they are on regular headphone jacks but with 4 pins the video and ground tend to swap places.

The ground on yours is most likely the closest one to the wire and will be the biggest connection.
