step down regulator board and rechargable batteries

Hey every body this is my first post, I'm working on my first portable 64. I'm having trouble locating a step down regulator, was wondering if any body could recomend a good or common regulator board used, and were to get it. also i want to set up the batteries and charger as shown in shockslayers charging diagram, but dont know what the specific name of the circuit board is called. is it a "protector curcuit? any help would be appritiated. thanks!

Step down regulator? PTH08080 or PTH08000 from Texas Instruments. You can get them as free samples.

http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=34576 << Batteries and Protection circuit (use to cells to make 7.2v, the N64 can run off 7.2v - 12v). Also, use the PTH08080, but thats my opinion.
