After taking apart the DSi, the bottom screen begins to fade. The longer the system is powered on, the more dim and washed out the screen gets!
I thought it might be something wrong with the screen itself, so I bought another screen from ebay. (Just the LCD, not touchscreen)
After replacing the screen, the bottom screen problem is still there, but much worse!
I guess the screen is a cheap counterfeit, but it's possible that is not what's causing it.
So.. I could try again and buy ANOTHER bottom screen, but this time buy official hardware. Should I do that, or should I just give up and throw out the DSi?
Those are the only 2 options left to me.. if the screen is not the problem, then I can't imagine what I could do to fix it short of buying another DSi or replacing the motherboard.
If anyone knows what is causing the screen fading, please do tell.
