Hi all, new here and once more it's a French guy !

I'm coming after seeing Monstercrunch Blog, and his little cube drive me crazy. So listening to my courage I decide to come here and go for some soldering work.

please excuse my english, no praticing for a long time...

well, I want to do a not so tiny cube so I have choosen a Pillow 7" screen
WKF mod without Disc (mega I think contacting you soon)
too large speaker...

What I have:
GC Pal Rev. A Dol 01
7" Pillow screen
2 controllers to sacrify
WKF + Gecko
Solder thing
Multimeter
dose of courage

Cabling screen DONE
Intern Slot A DONE
Reg Board DONE
WKF TO DO
Relocate Controller/ Controller board DONE
Case TO DO

I've already beginned my project:

the motherboard, nothing special, except perhaprs the regulator board, mine won't supply 12v anymore, during the soldering I'm thought my screen was dead...
So i took 12v on an another place on the reg board:

And it's work like a charms !

For the monent it's all, I already have the WKF but not sure to be able to solder on the FPC

Think I would do the controllers mod before the end of the week but that's all, got to go on holiday after, continuing when I'm back.

Ah just a question, how do you do your mold for vaacum forming ? where can I find a huge piece of wood (for 7" screen + pad and button).

Little update, I think I found the look of my cube !

It's only a project now, not sure if the colors will be this one, but let me introduce:

The Game & Watch Cube !!

Ah the good old days, hope the final look will be as close as possible as this.

Anyway, I have a little question, noob question don't hit me, how do SD gecko work, I mean, do I have special thing to do or just format fat32 SD, put a .dol on it and that's it ?

Little update, I do the controller board relocation

I also cut a little the heatsink just to be sure I wouldn't have a short with the power

I also think to replace nintendo text at the bottom of the screen by nintendo in Hylian language

the first is from twillight princess, the second from wind waker, first look better I think, but a really prefer Wind waker game, so don't decide by now ^^



I have few question but as Sonic said, I will do a post for it.

P.S: I'll do the dd lid switch with the WKF
