Replace a N64 controller's C-butttons with a 3DS-slider?

As told by the title; I was wondering if it's possible to replace a N64 controller's C-buttons with a 3DS-slider?
Would such action require a controllercard of some sort, or is there a more simple way?
Any thoughts?
