I had purchased one of those older "Game Genies" with the intention of using just the peripheral male and female parts of it to relocate the slot cartridge without having to de-solder from the board. Cutting the board just short of the "pinned" ends. I have wired up all the matching pins on both sides and tested the connectivity and everything checks out but I get no response from the Genesis when I have a game in it. Am I overlooking anything? is the voltage and subsequently the current from the cartridge low enough to the point that I would have issues extending it only 4 inches?
