PS3 turn on problem!

So my friend give me his PS3 to fix, when i first plugged it in and pressed the power button, it went to green light, then yellow, then red. so i opened it all open, done what gilsky1 done, except i used a hairdryer. I then put it all back together, and the yellow light was still there, so i done the hairdryer and fan trick, and the yellow light went, but when i press the power button it goes on the green light, stays on it for 2 seconds then switches off then the red light dosent show up?
Whats wrong?

Did you break or scrape off the little red led light? It's really small. Or, maybe you messed up the power supply

Maybe you could have sent it to Sony before you voided the warranty?

Unless their warranties are completely flax.

Also unless the guy modded the console, and by that I'd assume he wouldn't need help fixing it, and by that I'd assume he didn't.

If it's a Phat then the warranty's probably already gone. The Slims have been out for a little over a year now, so finding a Phat still under warranty would be pretty rare, I think. >_>
