Ps2p inside psp phat case

So I was looking around the internet and I saw Ashen's Gamecube inside of a psp case (Fusion Micro) and I said that it would be cool if a ps2p was made into a psp case. So that is what I'm atempting to do.

I'm using a 4.3 inch Car moniter from amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Monitor-Support-R ... ar+monitor

and a ps2 slim schp 79001

By the way I was wondering if there is a way to Launch Usb Advace without a disk drive?
or make the ps2 system think there is a disk drive (with the sensors blocked) without the disk drive actually connected?

edit I'm restarting the whole project

A trimmed ps2 board will be around 13cm x 12cm and the case of the phat psp is around 15cm x 8cm, basically the board will not fit in the case. You have also to take in consideration all the other part needed for your portable, the screen with board, controller board and buttons, audio amp with speakers, the battery, regulator, battery indicator, heat sink with fan etc... so it's not going to be possible.

If it is your first portable your best bet is to go for a Zn45 from polycase.com. A Zn40 could also work but it required a lot more planing to make sure that all the part fit inside, in short it's easier to work with a zn45.

The ps2 can work without the disc drive, you will need Mc freeboot setup on your memory card and a formated usb with your games on it. There is already a few ps2p without disc drive like this one from gman.
The only downside is some people are complaining of longer loading time and FMV not playing properly.

I was thinking of cuting up the board and relocating and have some spacers between the front and rear of the psp phat case but I'll probally use your suggestion
And yes I do have freemcboot, a FAT 32 usb,and Opl v.9 and Usb Advace. However when I try to load usb advace without a diskdrive the start op screen flashes red and freezes. Then i found out that you need the disk drive with all the sensors covered in order for usb advace to work
Is there a solution?

I went on photoshop and photophoped what I want to frankencase for my case

I'm not the best at photoshop so it came out a litte bad
The idea is to have the L2 and R2 triggers hanging off the back like a DS3 ( dual shock 3)
I ordered the psp replacement case from Amazon.com
while it is shipping I'm working on an OMGWTF cut for my motherboard
It will be difficult but I have a spareboard and lots of time to work on trimming
I did some math and if I can remove/relocate just the capasitors (and the components underneath)
for the mobo can fit in the psp case. Anyone have ideas or have a theory you have about trimming
just tell me and I'll test and tell you the result
Note I am going to add spacers between the faceplate and the rear plate it will all fit I just have to is relocate everything.

I knew you where referring to omg cut from your first post but that's just extremely difficult if not impossible to do.

The PS2 board is multilayered and you have traces going from one layer to the next layer which is quite difficult to track and also relocate.

I have play with 5 different ps2 board in the last 3 month and if one trace is missing that part of the board or the whole board is not going to work, so if you trim section of it you will need to reconnect no only the top and bottom layer but also the layers in-between.

There is also this thread about that but no one really ended up doing it, just settling for the cut you have already.

It is up to you of course but in my opinion your best bet is to go for a case that can hold your trimmed board.
