Nintendo Gamecube Clone controllers on Ebay --- Review

Yes I know this is not the Gamecube section. But since these are used more for N64 Portables I posted here :p

On Ebay you can get brand new clone Gamecube Controllers. They look exactly the same as the Official Gamecube controllers except for no Nintendo markings.

So I bought one for comparison pics and details.

First off it feels and looks almost identical to the Official Gamecube controller.
The A and B buttons are slightly darker but the same exact size.
The thumbstick and c-stick seem to be made of the same material as the Official controller and are the same color.
The d-pad seems to be identical also.
All parts are interchangeable with the Official controller including the thumbstick and c-stick caps.
The z-button is a clicky tact switch where it is "almost" a mushy tact switch on the Official controller.
The left/right trigger felt a bit stiffer but most likely it's because of having new springs where my Official controller is heavily used.

Now I was thinking it would be different inside but it really is VERY similar. Here's the pics :

The good news is that it is a perfect controller to get d-pads , c-sticks, and analog sticks for N64 portables.
Also the board is easier to work with since no scraping is involved.
Also no tri-wing screwdriver needed.
The GREAT news is that you can get them for less than $7.68 shipped for one on Ebay. Buy in bulk and they are cheaper.

Well there you go. Use this info or don't, no big whoop :)

**** Also notice the spots on the board for a Turbo and Slow function on each side of the start button. But there are no buttons for it on the outside of the controller. I wonder if they work. Hmmmmmm

Wow, that could be trimmed a LOT.

Thank you! I saw this but immediately dismissed it as junk. I forgot about it but you have revived my interests. How is the quality of the joystick? Is it tight or does it wobble?

Seems to be just like the Official one. If there is a wobble it's so slight as to be negligible.

And for OCD hail that's saying something.

Sweet, these will be good replacements for the now becoming rare and expensive official gamecube controllers.

Yea I am having a heck of a time finding them for some reason. And the local EB and Gamestop want $15 for used ones.

On Ebay they are about $15 shipped on average for used ones.

Re: Ninetendo Gamecube Clone controllers on Ebay --- Review

I have like 5 Gamecube controllers, lol.

Re: Ninetendo Gamecube Clone controllers on Ebay --- Review

A lot of ebayers want $25 shipped for new official ones. I don't want to spend $25 on a controller just for the joystick so I have to find someone selling the caps, if I have any extra gamecube c sticks.

By the way hail the "nintendo" in the title of this thread is a little off :p

Just tried the c-stick and the analog stick on my SuperPad 64 and SuperPad 64+ and they work PERFECTLY !!! :)

Yup these will make excellent replacements for Official Gamecube controllers.

I always like to play Nintendo game so I also going to buy Nintendo Gamecube. Game features include over five unique crafts and 30 combat units, four entirely different multiplayer modes and 16 single-player missions on six expansive worlds.

lmao nobody delete that. We must preserve the lulzitivity of spam bots for all.

Thanks for this idea.. While searching on Ebay I found these too:

They are about the same price and have TWO analog sticks

I wired one in my Sharkpad 64 (And yeah, I know the hot glue isn't pretty, but) ..it works perfectly!

The analog has a good feeling, the same as an original classic controller (for the Wii). And best of all: The controller stick's hole has exactly the same size of the Sharkpad 64's hole.

Stylish.

I dig the re-use of the joystick box's cap shield thingy.

I don't know what it's called, but I do know it's cool.

SS

SS, he did it on his first try. Wasn't that the reason for the big failures that were the X64?
