New GCP, go NTSC or PAL?

Hi guys, I'm gathering bits for a new GCP and I'm trying to settle on whether to go for an NTSC or PAL console. The reason I'm undecided is that the NTSC outputs a higher screen resolution than the PAL, however living in the UK getting my hands on NTSC consoles is very expensive postage wise. I have a suitable screen (the same one Ashen used in his component cable GCPs) and kind of want to use it to its full potential.
I suppose my deciding question is, is the video quality between PAL composite and NTSC component THAT great? I can be paying £40-50 per NTSC console and chances are one or two will get fried, not to mention the cost of the cable.
Any help and advice is most welcome.
Thanks in advance

NTSC and PAL Component are pretty much one in the same, if you can play games of all regions on a modded cube then you may as well stick with a PAL console.

You could argue 576 lines verses 480, but the Gamecube supports progressive scan, which is 480 lines only.

Nah, they're roughly the same.
Just get PAL; they're readily available and so are games. (Unless there's some kind of RGB complication, which IDK)

Thanks guys, I was under the assumption that the extra lines from NTSC would make a huge difference. I'll stick to component PAL I think, great info <3
