Need Help with a TI Reg (8000)

Alright, so I got a TI reg, and im hooking it up per HarshBoys Diagram, but Nobble sent me 2 1K Resistors, And said to wire them in Parralle. So which one would you do, Series or Parralle:

-----[1K Resistor]+[1K Resistor]--------------->N64

OR

-----[1K Resistor]------->N64

I don't think you understand this. The resistor isn't on the + line. It's on the negative output and goes back in to an input on the other side of the regulator.
