N64 rgb mod

Does anyone have successful experience with the nintendo 64 rgb mod?

I've tried it twice and have had no luck getting it to work, not even a flicker on the screen.

CPU-04 and below iirc

I know that, I've been trying with the listed compatible ones with no luck, the one I just tried is cpu-4. It has the right chip.

I wonder if you lift the pins off of the board and solder to them if it will work, I left the pins down and soldered to them.
