Hey dear modders =) ,

first of all: I am german. So please forgive me because of my bad english...

I was following the topics on this page (and benheck.com) for a long time. Some months ago I started a project: My own Gamecube portable! This was my first project and I'm a bit unexperienced in modding.
This was my first project: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=35833 . Unfortunately there was a long period of time, where i couldn't work on my portable... and now, I want to do it again... but better.

Here are the pics from the first day =)

This is all the work of one day. I hope you enjoy the project.
Btw... Where can is donate the 10$ for the 'Modding Competition'? I want to join ;)

So... it's time for my daily update =)
I sharpened the 'wood-model' a lot of time. And I added two plates for the controller. And the last thing I added is an 'edging material for worktops'. I used them for my kitchen... and wondered if this would work for my portable =). With this 'edging material' (I don't know how to call it... 'edging material' is standing on the packaging) I get super-smooth borders. That was one problem of my older portable...
But enough of my bad english ;) here are the pics:

Little update =) I can't wait to see how it looks, so I decided to make the case:

the case isn't perfect, but I have no more abs-plastic... I will try with this one.
But enough for today! Have a nice evening

The hole is for my fingers. Three of my fingers fit into it (!!) ;)
No... This is for the fan. I didn't want to tell you at this point of work... but I think it really looks like a hole for a fan, doesn't it?
But this will not be the final design of the hole... so be surprised;)

This is looking sweet. Also, GO GERMANY! I swear I'll move their someday... stupid Obama and his incompetence Can't wait to see how this turns out! What battery life are you expecting, or have you even gotten there?

I will use a battery from ebay (hongkong... ) with '12,7 volt' (in real 11,1 volt) and 9800mAh... who knews if this are real 9800mAh's. So I can't say how long the life would be. Sorry. But I will make a video when I'm finished! And then you will know ;)

One little update for the day: I want to make the 'radiator grill' by myself. Today the copper arrived and I will
saw it tomorrow.

Two more things:
1.: The model I have shown you is not final. It will be much smaller ;). But I am waiting for my new plastic to form.
2.: Could somebody please tell me where to donate the 10$ for the Competition?

Be careful with those Hong Kong batteries XD; I would suggest some websites for batteries, but they will probably be in the U.S., and thus, a Sega to ship to Germany. Do you know if the batteries you're getting have a PCB/Protection Circuit? (I don't know what they are called in German if you have no clue what I am talking about;) If not, you'll want one; they prevent overcharging (and explosions). Also, those are pretty heavy duty batteries. The GC will run at lower than 7 volts I believe, and the PSone screen needs a minimum of 7,2 volts. Most people use two 3,7 volt cells for 7,4 volts and regulate that with resistors. Your English is excellent by the way. By radiator grill, I think you mean heatsink, but that works too :p

Heatsink was the word I was missing xD Thanks. And on every of these 6 accus is one little protection circuit ;)
But I wonder how long the battery-life will be

Well that's good, now you are less likely to blow yourself up. Is Hong Kong shipping better than US shipping?
