also CORRECTION It is the best choice only if you feel comfortable with soldering in on to the board. I would say grab a breakout board for that though.However if you do not feel comfortable soldering here is a soltion to keep the disk drive from 1/2 the price of a wiikey

I see. Now what would you recomend as a suitable screen

Any screen made for game consoles (ie; zenith Gamecube/etc screens, PS1 screen) or if you want to make an audio amp you can get a cheap 3.5" backup screen for like 25 bucks shipped.

Yes. I'd recommend using the regulator built onto the board, and if you're using batteries, make them 14.8V.
The stock reg can take 25V, but no less than like 10.

No. Don't listen to him. DOL 001 is REV A, with no on-board reg. Also, don't use the stock regulator, build your own, you can save moniez on battery and they are much more efficient. Also, less heat.
