my first project, gamecube portable in psp case

hello all,
first want to say thanks a lot for the worklog you guys made about gamecube portable, especially ashen with his gamecube fusion micro and other member who made thing possible.I'm interest to make gamecube portable just like ashen's fusion micro,my very first portable project its went pretty smooth so far with some trouble. so here we are my progress so far..

list :
- GC pal region, trimmed with OMGWTF method, didnt read carefully about reallocation instruction, the controller transistor broken (replace it from other gamecube that not compatible with wiikey) and tab crystal clock gone (tho seem without it the system just run fine, still not sure didnt test further).
- wiikey fushion
- original gc volt regulator.
- 4.3" LCD TV 16:9, its fit in psp case pretty nice.
- trimmed official gc controller (credit to ashen).
- psp case, i don't have vacuum form table or the tool to make the case, so my plan is to make everything fit in psp case.
- audio amp, still not sure maybe i'll use LM386 with ditigal pot.
- battery, no i dont think the battery will fit in psp case , maybe will use external battery.

it's almost finish, just need the sound amp and speaker, so far controller work, i've test it to run some games.i don't think everything will fit in psp case without heavy mod, but will see once all ready.

haha, it is.. still not finish tho, the project not really smooth, have to troubleshoot , test and test again, when all the part ready and working i will rewire the mess part.wish me luck mate..

a little update,

rewire all the controller,psu,video. set the official gc mem card and sd slot for sd-gecko and load swiss its work pretty well..

thx mate, will do. well its way much better after i rewire it, shorten the wire to exactly point to point to make it clean and look easy to fix if something went wrong in the future.its not an easy project, triming the board, controller, wire it all together, sometime trial and error or something not run as it should be.above all of that trouble its really a fun project.

but afraid not, gamecube are really die hard, even if you make a mistake, the build in thermal protection/short protection will help a lot to prevent further damage.thats why i love retro console rather than xbox360 or ps3.so dont worry if you want to mod it.

update.. little teaser for those who want to see the final thickness i can get from this project gamecube portable rev.1.

as you can see the heatshink slightly out of the case, its because i stick a little foam under wiikey fusion and its too thick, too late to fix it coz i already super glue it to the board (will fix it on my next rev 2).

conclusion so far,it is possible to make all fit in psp case with realocation capacitor from the LCD's board, use thin wire and make it as short as possible (kynar wire will do),don't use thick foam like i did.if you have the tool to make custom case like vacuum form case, its way better to use it just like ashen's fusion micro rev 2.thickness wont be much different, yet will look much better and proffesional.
