.MOV editor

I need an editor for .MOV format movies. I need to make a movie for a school project, and I don't want to convert the movie and lose quality. I am running windows Xp and most of the programs are for Mac. Can anyone recommend a program?

Convert it properly, and I can assure you, you won't lose quality.
Read up on proper ffmpeg or mplayer usage, I highly recommend it.

For editing, VirtualDub is an option, though I don't like it.
You could pick up a 30-day free trial of Sony Vegas, free, legal, online.

I would suggest AVISynth+VirtualDub combo.

Thanks Jleemero, Sony Vegas worked great, and you were right about converting; I wasn't doing it right.
