So, back in October, I started this project as a Christmas present for my little brother. Just finished it today. I'm not entirely happy with it, but it's way to late after Christmas to keep working on it, and it has to be in Memphis by the 14th.

This thing has been causing me all sorts of trouble since I started, but I'm glad to finally be done.
On the plus side of things, I now have a ton of useful info on building an xbox hdd using a modern computer/latptop. Which is good.

You know what? The intentions are worth more than the final project. Your little brother should appreciate the gesture. Also, it looks pretty cool :)

The way you made that emblem is awesome! Great technique. Love the jenny craig box, it looks awesome. I have been wanting to make one, so can I ask how you deal with cooling? It seems to be a lot of times the slimmed down boxes run really hot (on small sinks/fans), and I can't find a good solution yet.

I dropped two of these in where the stock fan used to be. Didn't mess with the heatsinks any. I wanted to keep my Iceberq4's for other things.
They're just held on with generous amounts of superglue on the bottom. You can see how I placed em in that last pic.

That said, I haven't actually checked how well it keeps cool. I just assume it won't get much use competing with the Roku box for someone that doesn't play games, so I didn't care much.

... The reason I did this is because I kinda stole his xbox 4 years ago. :P

Edit: did some testing... Unsurprisingly, it overheated. Gonna do a couple of things tomorrow that should fix it. Hopefully, I'll be able to brighten those LEDs on the lid a bit, too.

Even if it's not exactly what you wanted, the effort you put into that is something to be proud of.

I like the controller ports.
