It might work without the regulator, but I don't know if I personally would risk it. I've become very conservative with that stuff since recently frying my digital camera with one (a 3.7v battery in a camera that normally takes 3v). But yeah, if you don't mind bothering with a regulator, this is probably the best option. Especially if you've got a cell phone laying around with a battery you could use. Though this guy (no offense intended to the OP) sounds a bit inexperienced with this stuff which is why my suggestion was more "newbie friendly."XCVG said:Lithium mod. A single cell dropped with a regulator will work- Heck, it might even work without the regulator.

If you follow my earlier suggestion and get rechargeable batteries rather than alkaline ones, zippo987, make sure they're not Nickel Cadium (Ni-cad/Ni-cd). Those have a memory effect and suck. You want Nickel metal hydride (NiMH).XCVG said:Lithium mod. A single cell dropped with a regulator will work- Heck, it might even work without the regulator.
