Is There a Gamecube Component Alternative?

More specifically, I was wondering if I could use a playstation 2 component cable instead of a Gamecube one? This is of course for the purpose of video out to a ps1 screen.

No the gc cable has a dac in it that converts signals that the ps2 cable won't have.

That's what I thought. So Let me see if I understand completely. Having a NTSC ps1 screen means that I can't do the S-video mod and I can only get something other than composite with a component cable.

You can swap in the AV chip from a PAL board. That will give you NTSC RGB.

Sorry, but I'm still pretty new to this. Are you referring to an AV chip from a PAL GC board or PAL PSone Screen?

actually I've been trying to find a breakout board that I could fit the PAL AV chip on for this (dont know if they exist) the PAL and NTSC AV chips have different pinouts so it's not a straight swap
