Well me and bondo are good freinds. I plan to use a 3.5in screen on the lid with a battery clipped on back.

I need to know 2 questions...
1)what Good games NEED analog sticks?
2) were can I get a (cheap) psone modchip?

I am going for a flat black paint color as well.
Well what do you think?

Black+PSone=No. The colour scheme of the console is white, I recommend you stick to that. Of course, there is no hard and fast rule, it's personal preference.

Also, neat to see one of these again.

White makes dirt show up. Dirtconsoles bug the crap out of me. Black wont show dirt and looks cool. And thanks I actually find making the case fun.

I find it fun but frustrating when it sticks out like that and is all crusty. sand the edges of the controls some more, add bondo, and sand that down too.

I did awhile ago but Im to lazy to post new pics.

Also why will nobdy answer my qestions? what does the analog button do? Ive never once used it.

grand turismo lets you have precise steering, you need it for ape escape.*waits for DK to come in*

You can easily get by with no analog sticks, since only Ape Escape and a select few others actually need them for gameplay. In fact, most of the PS1 games I own don't even support analog sticks.

what about the analog button?

Well if you don't want analog sticks, just use an original non-dualshock controller, which has no analog button.

The thing is that most psone modchips use older chips that are somewhat hard/expensive to come by these days. I was quite happy to find this recode for a more common chip (that is also used for wii-modchips), I even happened to have some of those lying around!
GaryOPA is a really nice guy and he was very helpful when I contacted him on MSN

I tried to read up on PIC and gave up. I'm sticking with AVR. My biggest problem is that there are too many chips, with names that have no significance, and any one programmer will only program a handful of different chips. It's confusing, would someone port that modchip to AVR please?

Huh, maybe I'm just an AVR lover.
