How do I wire a tact siwtch to a 64 controller?

I can't figure this out, I need help. I have tact switches with four little metal prongs on the bottom, two on each side. I know two will go to the controller and two to the board. But isn't there a data wire that needs to get hooked up. Or is there power wires that get hooked up to the tact switch. PLEASE HELP, I am VERY confused.

open up the controller and look at where the silicon pads hit the spots on the n64 board then scrape of the black crap or if your using a thirdparty just solder to one side of each contact then solder that to the tact switch make sure the prongs that you solder to are diagonal.

You know where the pads under the buttons are? Wire the tact switch to those. Two opposite corners will do fine.
