This has probably already been posted but....
Do you have miles of broken Christmas lights laying around your house? Of course you do! So what do you do with them? Eating them doesn't work. Not to worry though, for I have a solution.
Simply cut the wall plugs off of each end and unravel the wires! you will have a long strand of perfectly good wire (and a buttload of christmas lights that might or might not work). Not exactly sure what the gauge of the wire is but it is pretty flexible and should suit many electronic needs (probably a little too big in portables though. might be good for wiring the battery). Just thought I would share. 
forgot to mention. you get TWO strands of wire.
