Here is what is going to look like
gcp.jpg

Im going to make the case white and all of the buttons black and as you can see the case is going to need a lot of work

The thickness of this design is probably going to be 2-3 inches but its going to be relatively small considering the motherboard is only about 1cm smaller than the width/length of the case

I was looking at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tails/181-9101311-7653707?ie=UTF8&me=&seller= for a screen (60$!) but now its sold out... If anyone knows of a 4inch one for cheep thatd be great

I am probably going to do the custom regulator to get it running on 7.4V

one of the batteries that i was looking at (for maxiumum battery life) was http://www.batteryspace.com/customizedpolymerli-ionbattery74v9ah666whwithpcbandmolexconnector.aspx but ill probably go with something smaller that will give me 1-3 hours of life

Any comments or suggestions would be great

So it'll be kinda like this?
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2771

For batteries, 4 of these in series and parallel will get you slightly more playtime, and be $30 cheaper. (7.4V, 9400mAh)
And with Zenloc's regulator, it will get you about: 2.3A (Cube) + 700mA (Unmodded PSone) + 40mA (Speakers) = ~3 or so hours. More if you use a lower drawing screen/LED modded PSOne. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

Yea like his but the buttons and screen will be closer together and the disk drive will be on back. Yea I'm planning on making the regulator and I can't use the Psone screen because it is over 5 inches and the maximum screen size I can have is 4inches to fit in the case

I've seen lots of people attempt a gameboy-like portable game system, i haven't seen one that wasn't fat and bulky and not really even that portable, lets hope ur the first to not have that happen  . I know I couldn't do it.

2 b honest, i think it would sell pretty well, but my funds r going directly 2 my rent which means i won't b able 2 start another project 4 a while. so i wouldn't worry about it too much, 'the junkyard' occasionally has batteries, but u probaably knew that...

Sorry dude, but it's a pain in the ass to read and it's just annoying to look at, honestly :?

oh...well at least u did say u were sry, like my typing really matters...but i was just typing a response 2 this guy and thats all. don't read my posts if they bug u, its as simple as that, and thats kinda a given. thnx 4 the advice though?

Post like a human, and people will respect you. Do whatever the Heck you call that, and people will hate you. It is your choice, but, keep in mind, when you are hated, you generally get banned. Additionally, posting like could be considered spam, depending on how you read the rules. Spamming can be a bannable offense. And, since I dont feel like stopping, "pergatory" is not a word, and having it as your location makes you seem even more retarded than your postings.

oh lol, It seems that out of the two of us, I'm actually the one whose trying to stay on topic, and when I 'text' people using abbreviations, etc., I'm certainly not hated, as long as you guys understand what is being said-I mean, is that not a basic principle of communication? Feel free to prove me wrong, but calling me names isn't helping you prove your point...just saying. To be perfectly honest though, "pergatory" as I have it written is not a definable place at all, so thank you for pointing that out.

Aaaaanywayz...How's the project coming Pablojrz?

Sam, you're being an ass. Plain and simple. Think about that for a sec.

And yes, how is the project coming along???

I got very lucky and found a 1$ zune 80 at a garage sale because it was broken. I opened it up and saw a cable was ripped so i bought as new one and the zune worked like a charm, so i sold it for 100$ and now i have enough money to kick this gcp in action!

one question though, For the Custom regulator to allow the gamecube to run off 7.4v (viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2844) what website sells the parts?

Thanks

The resistors and capacitors can be bought online or at Radio Shack (or an equivalent). The TI chips are gotten from TI.com.

Great job on the Zune thing :D
