GC controller splitting/ps1 screen regulator/12v/5v bridge ?

Would it work if i wired two controllers directly to the back of port one and used the left side of one controller and the right of the other? or would there be a problem with the power draw, voltage, efficiancy...ect...?

Could i use a 7805 or a 7812 regulator for the ps1 screen?

(SS) ive heard that there some slight problems with the 12v/5v bridge. Its amazing that it can run off 5v but
would a 7.4v battery make up for any possible error?

I also heard that for maxemum efficancy its best to use a battery that is closest to the original voltage
but idk.

Anyway those are just a few questions that have been on my mind.
Id appriciate any help on this :)

You'd very likely have problems with the competing data signals I don't even know if a controller would work with half of it cut off. Someone else here will have to clear that up.

Nope, in line of linear regulators, you'll have to use a 7808. 7805 doesn't provide enough voltage and 7812 gives way too much. 7808 provides 8v, which is about the most the PSOne screen can take.

That is true, but it will run well enough off of a varying amount of voltage. People usually use anywhere between 7.4v and 14.8v at around 4700mAh.

Hope I helped a bit :)

Oops i meant to post that here lol.anyways thanks again ;)

Sure thing :) Like I said, if you need any help that you don't think merits its own thread, PM someone :)

I want to add that, while you said it will run off a variety of voltages, you forgot to meantion you need a custom built regulator setup to get it to run off 5-10v.

Re: GC controller splitting/ps1 screen regulator/12v/5v brid

I thought the bridge was like a bypass from having to do that.Did ss use a custom regulator?

No he did not. He bridged it, but he still was using 11.1v batteries. The regulator in the GCN will only work at 10v and up. The stock regulator takes this and lowers it to 1.9v, 3.4v, and 5v. He connected the 5v pin to the 12v spot to prove it could be done.

If one wants to take advantage of this, however, they must build a custom regulator that can accept lower voltages. It's not that difficult to do, and can cost less than $10 if you get samples from TI.

THIS THREAD explains everything.
