gc 14.8v to 8v

A 7808 will do the job, albeit crudely. An LM317 can be set to 8V, in case you are like me and have access to those but not 7808s. Or you could use a switching regulator from TI. A PTH08080 won't work but there are others that will.
 
Yep, what he said. Note that the switching regulator will be the most power efficient of the options and will give you the least amount of heat produced as waste.
 
ok where could I find it, tell me the types of components needed for it, the wiring, and tell me thevexact kind of regulator so I can look it up
