OK since my other mod was a complete and total epic fail. LOL! This is my new mod. I am actually going to take the time and measure everything. Make sure that the screen is centered and all that good crap.

Here are some pics of what I have done so far.

This is what the GBA is going inside of.

I have taken the mobo out of the GBA and I cut out the battery case part.

Here I have done some measuring to get the screen exactly center of the case.

There is more stuff to come.

Nice work. I like it!

Screen cutout is a bit rough and needs sanding though.

Center! :dahroll:

Game...case? I can see a PSP shell, but its kind of weird to put it in a game case. Thats just my opinion though.

Re: GBA inside a PSP Game Case Worklog (Updated)

Its his mod..... he also said its better for his larger hands.

Re: GBA inside a PSP Game Case Worklog (Updated)

Are you going to paint it?

Sanding the screen hole will make this look WAY better imo.

Re: GBA inside a PSP Game Case Worklog (Updated)

OK so this is not coming along very well. I mean I am almost done but when you are cutting plastic like this you get a lot of cracks and stuff that just show up and ruin the case. Hopefully I can fix the cracks with some epoxy or something. Well here is some pics of what I did last night before I went to sleep.

Yes I am going to paint it.

Re: GBA inside a PSP Game Case Worklog (Updated July 8)

I cut it using an exacto knife. I did not trust using the dremel cause I was worried about the plastic melting and then there would be chunks of melted plastic all over.

Re: GBA inside a PSP Game Case Worklog (Updated July 8)

Put your dremel on the lowest setting, and while dremeling, pour cold water on it.

Thats what im going to do with my case.

Also, the PSP case plastic is very thin and ultra weak. I'm not surprised that it broke.

Re: GBA inside a PSP Game Case Worklog (Updated July 8)

Well I have just done some more work on it. It is coming along even more. Just gotta cut out a few more things then I will post pics. After I post pics I am going to paint it after I epoxy all the extra cracks and holes.

Re: GBA inside a PSP Game Case Worklog (Updated July 8)

Right now I am gonna go dremel out the A and B button holes.

Re: GBA inside a PSP Game Case Worklog (Updated July 8)

The A and B buttons are a little bit off but the start/select buttons are perfect the d-pad is almost perfect. Gotta make the A and B buttons go a little more to the left and then epoxy over the spot where it is not going to be. Other than that almost done.

OK so here are the finished pictures of what I have done. The project is finished now. I have painted it filled in the holes that were not supposed to be there. Here is the pics.

neverused: The epoxy did not bond perfectly to the soft plastic but it did its job. This is a lot different from that project. This one requires actual work. That one all I had to do was put the GBA inside and cut out the spot for the screen and buttons. No real work involved in that one.

Looks pretty good. The psp game case though I think is a bad choice for it. Its soft, brittle and weak. But for a small project like this one, its pretty cool. I like it!
