Formerly known as zenloc
Ok I've been planning for my new mass produced gamecube project. Named the "GameCubeMini". Now before I start mass production I'm planning on making a protoype which is an already bought commission by D_Hell from the Moddedbybacteria forums.

Project will include:

Gamecube + custom regulator
IBM Thinkpad heatsink with fan (running off 3.3v)
Wiikey Fusion + SD slot
2x 3.7v 5000mah li-polymer cells (7.4v 5A)
Internal 7.4v charger (1.2A)
5" Dalian Good Display
Sound amp with digital control + speakers
Built in 256mb memorycard (switchable 128mb memorycard for pal/usa and jap)
Built in sd gecko
Headphone jack
AV out jack
Original Power jack
4x Controller ports

Controller will exist from the following controller parts:
Wii Classic controller (analog shoulder buttons only)
2x 3DS analog sticks + custom nub
NDS Lite action buttons + dpad
2x Custom Z buttons

Color of the portable will be matt black. When all the parts have arrived I'll post pics of construction.

Re: GameCubeMini Prototype program!!!

Do you have a estimate of the total final cost of all of those items? I am guessing somewhere along the lines of $400 including shipping back from you?

Re: GameCubeMini Prototype program!!!

Wow.... what an awesome offer (and a good way to get the start up parts for the next 10 after these)! If I had the cash on hand I'd "buy" one just to say I had one of Zenloc's epic portables. To bad I just spent around $3000.00 on replacement windows for my house... Kinda breaks the bank for me for a bit. People who jump on this are seriously lucky.

Re: GameCubeMini Prototype program!!!

Are we obligée to provide all of these part if we don't want them in the gamecube? Line the rumble motor, psp stick instead of 3GS stick, Sd gecko , Playstation av port or the iPod sound amp??If we are, can you give some websites where we can fine the parts which are difficult to find( espcially in France)
Can we directly ship the items to your adress? Thank you

Re: GameCubeMini Prototype program!!!

I'll be posting links and a total cost this weekend. Don't get anything yet untill it is all clear which components I need. Note that my price for this model is going to be well around $1000 so you are getting like a 50% discount on this!!!

Thanks man. Hopefully I'll reach 10 people in the next couple of days. Then I can be sure to start in August.

Next up is finishing the case and then it's time to put everything together.

Re: GameCubeMini Prototype worklog

hhhhmmmm.... I've been wondering about those 3ds analog sticks, how are you going to wire them up and how did you make the nubs on top?

Re: GameCubeMini Prototype worklog

The analogs have gold ribbon contacts you can solder to that. Just don't heat them up to much otherwise you'll ruin the contacts. As for the top cap. I bought a replacement psp cap pack http://cgi.ebay.com/8-Button-Analog-Sti ... 3ca9a4e177

I used the middle one. I cut it down and drilled a hole in the center to fit the analog stick. It also looks like the original cap altough it's plastic not rubber. Which is perfectly fine that way so I can paint them different colors.

Re: GameCubeMini Prototype worklog

No thread jacking, but occasionally you will see a portable pop up in the junkyard.

Speaking of portables for sale, here is our good friend technott's Game Cube portable up on ebay.
