Gameboy Terror (Gameboy Pocket Mod Worklog) - FEB. 24

This is my first Gameboy Mod that I'm posting on Modretro (second GB mod total).
It's just called the Gameboy Terror because it's my personal Pocket and my name's NTerror :awesome:

I'm not doing anything really special, just:
[x] - Painting the case
[] - Biverting the LCD
[] - Overclocking (Possibly)
[] - Backlighting the LCD
[] - Prosound (Possibly)

Would I be able to fit the biversion and the overclocking modules inside the case? And is biversion really that useful/noticeable?

When an item on the list is complete, I'll put an 'x' in the brackets.

Now, basically right before I made this topic, I painted the case. I used Rust-oleum Universal Metallic Gold spray paint. I didn't want to paint it a solid color; I wanted it to be different. I got a sort of speckled finish on the case by spraying from farther away in short bursts, and I'm very happy with how it came out (of course, it isn't totally dry yet).

I took it with my phone, so the quality obviously isn't the best. Once it is dry I'll be taking pictures with my super-sexy webcam.

Now we'll backtrack a bit. I don't know about you, but I don't have extra screens (not the LCD, the protective screen), and I quite like the stickers, so I covered them in masking tape and cut out those areas with an X-Acto knife.

Anyway, I'm done painting (it's checked on the list already :D ).

I would've been on my way to biverting the LCD except I cut through the ribbon cable and had to order another Gameboy Pocket

So that'll be here in a week or so, and my backlight will be arriving later this week.

UPDATE: FEB. 22

So the case is pretty much dry (it hasn't been a full 24 hours, but it wasn't a full coat either) and I really like how it came out. Will be posting better quality pictures soon.

EDIT: Here's a picture:

It looks really good irl

Haha thanks!
The sad thing is that I don't have another LCD! I am getting the crystals and switch to overclock it as well as the 74hc04 and backlight in the mail

Oh well. I am getting my very first DMG from themadhacker, and I'm thinking of just shifting this project over to that since I've really made no progress. Buying a whole MGB each time you break an LCD gets expensive, you know. :p

Haha, whatever. I've just done it like this for everything that I've painted with a screen. :p
